The 2015 Geneva International Motor Show ended on Sunday with a level of attendance which reached 680 000 visitors over 10 days. SUVs there were particularly honored and confirmed the trend among many car manufacturers to explore this segment. Let’s overview the SUV that stood out from the rest during the event.
Audi e-tron quattro Q7
First diesel plug-in hybrid SUV, the Audi Q7 e-tron combines a 258 hp diesel engine with an electric motor of 128 hp. Featuring an all-wheel drive Quattro, the SUV has a autonomy of about 60 km in electric mode and gives taxes benefits (bonus “green + TVS). Its release is scheduled for spring 2016.
Aston Martin DBX
Aston Martin caused surprise by presenting its prototype SUV coupe with four electric motors inside the wheels. With this model, the manufacturer confirms its willingness to position itself on two new segments: luxury SUV and electric car.
Infiniti QX30 Concept
The QX30 concept prefigures the future compact crossover Infiniti. As expected, this prototype shows the lines of Concept Q30 already exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. The series QX30 that should be released in 2016 will show a style similar to the concept car.
Ford Edge
For the second time, the Ford Edge that will be released in November 2015, was exposed by the brand in an exhibition.
Honda HR-V
The Honda HR-V that had already made an appearance at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, has finally appeared in its final version at the Geneva International Motor Show 2015.
Hyundai Tucson
The compact SUV Hyundai will land soon in the market to compete with the (rather similar sized) Renault Kadjar
GLE Mercedes AMG Coupe 450
While at the Detroit Motor Show this model was presented with the V8, it’s now a V6 model that was exhibited at the Geneva International Motor Show 2015. This model completes the Mercedes Coupe SUV offer and will be released very soon, in April 2015.
Land Rover Evoque
The main novelty can be found, not in its style, but the the engine where a more economical diesel engine is used.
20V20 Seat Concept
Another concept-car for Seat who presented its own version of SUV. While Seat is the only brand from the Volkswagen group that hasn’t relied on SUV until now, with this concept-car, the brand demonstrates his willingness to position itself in this segment.
Renault Kadjar
With its4.45m long Kadjar, Renault also plans to settle on the compact SUV segment while hoping to reproduce the success of Captur.
