Truffle Capital recently published the 2015 French software editors ranking. DATAFIRST climbed three places this year (75th place compared with 78 in 2014).
Truffle 100 : Top 100 French software companies
The Truffle 100 is an important reference within the software vendor industry, carried out based on a questionnaire survey. The ranking enables experts to better understand and analyze the French software industry.
The survey aims at analyzing the vitality, creation of value and jobs within the sector, as well as capacity for innovation. It highlights the importance of the challenges the industry represents and its leading role in research and development (R&D), in France and throughout Europe.
A software sector in good health
The results of the 2015 survey show that the software industry in France is in good shape
The sector is not only creating jobs (800 posts created in R&D) but it is also enjoying sustained growth. “With a 6.6 billion euro turnover last year, the French software industry has recorded significant level of growth at 6%, despite the current context. Furthermore, this has been the case for seven consecutive years!” points out Bernard-Louis Roques, Manager Director and Co-founder at Truffle Capital.
A number of important measures put in place by the government are of great support to the industry, including: sustained tax credit on research and the extension to tax credit on innovation, strengthening of employee shareholding arrangements and bonus shares, not to mention corporate venture tax iniciatives.
The study highlights industry main trends. Ranked companies named Cloud computing and SaaS as being the main vehicles for creating growth in the 2015 software industry, above mobile applications(43%) and Big Data (36%). In comparison, in 2012, 42% of editors surveyed said they were proposing a Saas based offer: in 214 the number had risen to 68%.
DATAFIRST is proud to be contributing to such a vibrant industry, with a bright future ahead of it!
